Life has taken a 360 degree turn and changed so much. The days when we use to be excited about going to class wearing our new pair of uniform with the new bag and all the books which had been wrapped with the brown paper seemed to be lost in time. 21 years and it seems like the good old days date way back in the past.
Sitting in
my office and gazing around I can feel the air is so different over here. Work
and pressure and all the deadlines and the constant pressure to keep up and not
lose the race of winning in the crowd of millions. The definition of friends
and companionship changes and it’s no more like it use to be. You can no more
share your things and share your lunch during the lunch time and coin each
other friends by the end of the day. The real picture in the big bad world is
harsh. You will not find people to be friends with. Everyone has their own life
and it’s only about “I” and “ME”. You really cannot argue whether it’s the
right attitude or not you just accept it because it’s how things work and you
eventually also turn up to be a “I” person.
At times I
wonder that every phase of life unfolds a new story and teaches us different
lessons. Every phase brings along its own set of challenges and every phase
seems difficult when you are in that particular phase. So what’s with giving so
much thought to this new phase?
The answer
that comes to my mind is the fact that the beginning of this particular phase
changes every aspect of life and that’s why I started with the thought that “life
has taken a 360 degree turn” Happiness is no more about getting “sketch pens
and doctor sets” or owning a “swanky Barbie” .It’s about who owns a Black berry
and the latest I-phone. Happiness is no more about getting an “A grade” in your
class test and announcing it with joy to your parents , but today life is about
getting a handsome package and weather you get the time to celebrate the joy
with your loved once matters to a small degree. Happiness is no more playing hides and seeks
games with your friends instead it’s about identifying your foes and staying
away because you really can’t count any friends.
The highs
and the lows are part of our life and both teach us to live everyday and not
give up on life. Every morning brings a ray of hope and the morning sun shine
wakes us up from our slumber to get going for a new day but at times the clouds
might be heavier . These are the times when you want to give up because you
can’t find a reason to get up and fight. This is another phase that we tend to
witness in our lives. But remember “when the going gets tough, the tough get’s
going “The sun will shine and life will give us chances till the time we decide
not to give up. While we are growing up nobody teaches us that life is going to
throw us many challenges and we are going to be part of the big bad world
fighting for survival.
We all learn
our lessons and accept the only constant thing about life which is the “ever
changing situations” and we adapt to
these changes and live each day as it comes.
